Mary Teck began in a third-floor walk-up between two college campuses, between the seminar room and the studio, between the things we put on for ourselves and the things we put on for the day ahead.

We make athletic dresses — six of them, for now. Each piece is patterned to move the way you actually move: from coffee at six to a long walk at dusk, from the library to a dinner you weren't sure you'd make.

We work with mills who care about how a fabric feels after the hundredth wash. We cut in small runs because that's the only way to keep things this good. And we'll never make a hundred new things every season — we'd rather make the right few.
